Lumpen.. You have it.. Runs parallel to the Pacific Highway inland a bit and is a good climb uphill through the camphor laurels... Bending, bumpy and condensation in unexplanable places....

Cheers Blonk,

What run do you take after the first bridge heading north?

I take the right turn and head up past the 'Disabled Riding School' and the Quarry, is a good ride, just really need your wits about you, especially with those BFO dumptrucks on the road.

It just so happens that a 2 good friends of mine were first on the scene to that accident...........he lives about 200 meters from where it happened on the Teven Road and was enjoying a few late night beers on his back veranda while fishing when he heard the smash followed by the Splash..........He is also a Motor Mechanic and said that the thing was "Howling" before the impact.

He was also the first one in the water to see if he could help the driver....but unfortunately it was too late.

Anyone that knows the area knows that Teven Road is a great drivers/riders road......one of my favourite bike roads....but its not a road that is easy to navigate.

Long Blind sweepers that are narrow and bumpy.........wet spots on the road even on the driest days..........gravel on the shoulders..........Sugarcane farms on both sides of the road with lots of slow moving traffic and heavy machinery as well as a couple of Cattle Farms & Studs, Dogs, Horses and the local native animal population make it very difficult to take at speed unless you are some kind of combined magician & psychic.....The speed limit in that area is not well marked but it does have advisory speeds in a few spots near the bridges etc.....so I think that its a 100 zone with a couple of 70/80 posted bends......but even in the best conditions is difficult to manage a constant 100 safely.

Id be interested to see the post mortem results........I will bet big bucks that the guy was off his face when this happened as anyone with normal senses would have been able to judge the situation with a lot more common sense and drive accordingly.

hi guys,

awful situation there. There is never anything pretty about this kind of stuff and accidents like this should make motorists, especially P-platers to think twice about what they are doing on our roads.

Simmo, just wondering which newspaper that was in, there is a couple of people I want to show that to, so they can stop they're appauling driving manner.

Thanks,

Lev

he may have wanted to kill himself. Aparently there are may "speed" related fatalities that were discovered to be suicide.

Funny... I was only wondering the other night what it'd be like to top yourself at 230kph in the XR.

Seriously though... any dumb f*ck that wants to top themselves should at least consider the poor bastards who's lives they f*ck up as a result: family and friends and, particularly, those who have to recover the body.

I dont want to start a b**ch fight, but looking at the age of the driver and the age of the other fatality in the last paragraph, there is some good evidence that its not only young people who HOON. Condolences to the family.

Dazza.
