I've seen Toyotas with BA, AU and E series and also X series wheels. Edited 10/04/07 10:21 AM by Falchoon
turbo_nick some guy... Member 277 Member For: 22y 4m 12d Posted 10/04/07 01:27 PM Share Posted 10/04/07 01:27 PM No, the stud pattern hasn't changed - the offset has changed. AU/BA have 36mm offset. Pre AU have zero offset. Some pre AU (aftermarket widies) have 10mm offset. I don't know what wheels were on the BA but they were definitely 15" and they cleared the calipers easily from what I saw. If they were no more than 8" wide they could have been pre AU wheels with a 10mm offset and hence no problem at all with guard clearance - even zero offset 8" wide ones will fit inside the rear guard - but not on the front. They are still going to sitck out at 0 offset. If they were 6" wide at +10 then MAYBE they'd stay within the guards but 8" wide at 0 or +10, no way. I've seen a few cars with pre-AU rims and they don't sit inside the guards. You could try some Toyota wheels, same stud pattern as Ford. I've seen Toyotas with BA, AU and E series and also X series wheels. It works with Ford wheels on Toyotas but it may not work the other way around because most 5-stud Toyotas will run a fairly high offset - +45 or +45 from memory. dansedgli Member 214 Member For: 21y 1m 15d Posted 07/07/07 02:40 AM Share Posted 07/07/07 02:40 AM I think converting back to AU1 brakes on the rear is also an option to fit 15 inch brakes. I think Rod used to do it with his twin turbo pursuit back in the day.
