now u can go back to unichip :P and APS :P

Nah 2 maps is enough for me and I haven't got the money to be paying for a new chip. :ermm:

Geea. :ermm:

hey Craig you can have two maps right now with the uni-chip...

jeff

Hey Jeff, I don't like disagreeing with you but who told you this? I know you don't talk sh*t so I don't disbelieve you , its just your info is different to mine.

Do you mean you can have 2 completely different tunes with a switch that can be changed whilst driving? I've heard that the unichip can have 2 ignition maps but not 2 tunes.

Does anyone with a Unichip actually have a switch with 2 totally different maps?

With the Unichip computer we can tune the engine to run on 98 ron premium unleaded and if you need to run on a lower octane fuel from time to time we can also generate a second map to cater for either 91 or 95 octane fuel.

Pretty sure you can't run two maps with a switch at the moment... :idunno: if you can somebody let me know

A Unichip with 5 different settings...now that would be nice :w00t2:

1 for street.

1 for racing/strip.

1 for crap fuel or no PULP situations.

1 for Dyno comps

1 for Ken(misses)mode :kissmy:

Good list of maps JB, could the last one also be used as a valet mode. :w00t2:

wat about a towing map or burnout map or driveway map or maybe a map for reversing

That could cause trouble if you spin the wheels reversing a trailer into your driveway :idunno:

I have asked APS this question and the reply was....

Unichip can only provide a second ignition map for use with lower octane fuel.

This is what I heard also. :spoton:

I'd think that APS would be developing the 5 map capablity to keep up or head the competition. :gooff:

HI Guys,

I am just curious why you guys perceive a benefit to running multiple maps. I am assuming that you realise that units such as this one can apply different corrections at different load and rpm. This means that a good tuner can tune for good power and good economy. It is easy to map a car that produces good torque at Wide throttle opening at low rpm, good power at higher rpm, and good economy at low throttle openings.

The only benefit I see of multiple maps is:

* A map for bullet proof safe performance for sustained high load (richer with more less ignition)

* A map for max power (leaner with more advance), but not sustained

* Maybe maps for different fuels

There is certainly no need for maps for dragging different types of cars!! :)

Most people would be happy with one map, and two would provide for those who either need to run on lower quality fuels, or use their car for motorsport with sustained load (probably the same map really!!)
