Geea. hey Craig you can have two maps right now with the uni-chip...jeff Hey Jeff, I don't like disagreeing with you but who told you this? I know you don't talk sh*t so I don't disbelieve you , its just your info is different to mine.Do you mean you can have 2 completely different tunes with a switch that can be changed whilst driving? I've heard that the unichip can have 2 ignition maps but not 2 tunes. Does anyone with a Unichip actually have a switch with 2 totally different maps?Geea. hello BGSer Member 166 Member For: 21y 3m 6d Location: Brisbane Posted 29/09/04 06:16 AM Share Posted 29/09/04 06:16 AM With the Unichip computer we can tune the engine to run on 98 ron premium unleaded and if you need to run on a lower octane fuel from time to time we can also generate a second map to cater for either 91 or 95 octane fuel. PeterAPS =====================================================I think he was referring to the 2 maps, if im wrong dont go blasting Peter Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/13131-unichip-scoop/page/2/#findComment-170382 Share on other sites

Unichip can only provide a second ignition map for use with lower octane fuel. I'd think that APS would be developing the 5 map capablity to keep up or head the competition. Geea. Guest vosadrian Guests Posted 30/09/04 05:03 AM Share Posted 30/09/04 05:03 AM HI Guys,I am just curious why you guys perceive a benefit to running multiple maps. I am assuming that you realise that units such as this one can apply different corrections at different load and rpm. This means that a good tuner can tune for good power and good economy. It is easy to map a car that produces good torque at Wide throttle opening at low rpm, good power at higher rpm, and good economy at low throttle openings. The only benefit I see of multiple maps is:* A map for bullet proof safe performance for sustained high load (richer with more less ignition)* A map for max power (leaner with more advance), but not sustained* Maybe maps for different fuelsThere is certainly no need for maps for dragging different types of cars!! Most people would be happy with one map, and two would provide for those who either need to run on lower quality fuels, or use their car for motorsport with sustained load (probably the same map really!!)-- Adrian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/13131-unichip-scoop/page/2/#findComment-170804 Share on other sites
