hey eatv8 wat is the go with mustangs coming with live rear axles :idunno:

I mean how much does one of those base stangs equate to in oz dollars cos our base falcons have irs and nearly every other mid priced car on the oz market :kissmy:

Mr X: I dont think a wing would really suit the shape, very clean tidy look. Maybe a very purpose downforce generating wing is needed on this race spec though since it is going to spend alot of time on the track :)

Only the Cobra version will feature IRS. Ford are saying the GT is like a budget drag racers car, cheap to buy, easy to mod and have fun with. Price I'm not 100% sure, around US$25,000 mark I believe so about AU$35,700 would be a rough conversion (For the 225kw V8, who wants a that old V6 Ford US are using :)). Personally I think they could of maybe offered the live rear axel in a certain model aimed for budget drag racers and had IRS in most of the new stangs, oh well...

I want one of those NOW! Could do with a rear wing though.Pity Tickford/FPV isn.t converting some of those to rhd.

Pity Ford doesn't make them in right-hand drive in the first place like they do the Explorer and Escape. That would make it much more affordable for you guys.

The base 2005 Mustang comes with a 150kW 4.0 litre V6 and a five-speed manual, it starts at $23,805.02 AUD.

It makes the car much cheaper to mass produce, Ford will be producing thousands and thousands of them so it saves a lot of money, and keeps the price of the car down. You won't experience any wheel-hop when flogging it either.

The 2006 SVT Mustang (I think they dropped the Cobra name since another car will be taking it) will have IRS and razor sharp handling. I've read SVT is using the BMW M3 as their handling target.
