Just to close this thread, I've just noticed that McInerney's motto is:

"Twice the Dealer - Twice the Service"

I seriously think they should be honest - and change it to:

"Twice the Dealer - Twice the Service - Twice the Price" !!! :crybaby:

Mate take it to your fair trading office & get quotes from the opposition, as well as quotes for the oil.

I would & I'd really press the issue.

I'd also inform Ford Austalia & see what they have to say.

Well its now 45000km service time and this time I got quotes and I'll provide my own oil. Perth members may be interested in the following quotes:

Range Ford - $170 - $200, $26.95 for a loan car

Midway Ford - $200 with free loan car

Centre Ford - $150 dunno about loan car.

And wait for it......

McInerney Ford - "Oh its a major service so about $400".

It seems like last time wasn't a unique experience.

That's very interesting Mark

Thanks

I live in Rockingham, work in Subiaco and bought my current car from Mandurah (Lane Ford)

Unless things have changed over the past 5 years, I won't be using Challenger Ford for anything.

Centre Ford - well - they ripped me off a few times on EF services.

Lane Ford I will give a go - but I will be doing the shop around/quoting exercise like you and saying to them

"This is what XXX Ford charge. Match it and you've got the job"

that's disgusting. I would definately be boycotting them. It's amazing how many dodgy dealers there are. I've had the experience of getting some cosmetic damage fixed and it coming back worse...... twice!! I'm in SA so a different dealer. No idea

G'Day Guys and Gals,

The T goes in for it's 30k service next week - the last before warranty expires in Feb 06.

I want to make sure that I cover all known issues and fixes. On my list so far is:

1. Steering rack clicking at low speeds

2. Brake shudder - machine rotors, replace pads (are these covered by warranty?)

3. Reflash

Are there any other common known fixes that I should get checked?

Muz

The 30K service was done on my T last week and it was reflashed. Must say that my car feels SO much better. It's like it's been given a new lease of life over 3000 revs. I was very surprised as I had read lots of reflash stories and wasn't sure how my car would go ... but all is well. Don't know if any help to you but the service dept guy told me a new reflash program is coming soon for auto transmissions which take a long time to engage reverse. Oh, and the handbrake was adjusted, and you probably already know you have to pay extra for that.

Also get them to check all the bolts on the turbo to make sure they are on tight and all there!
