Hello all,

I just read about the new Playstation 2 that will be available on 26th October. It isn't the Playstation 3 that some of us are waiting for. It's a new version of the current Playstation 2's. It'll have an inbuilt modem and an ethernet port as standard. Oh and get this. It'll be about quarter of the size of the current PS2's. That'd be an awesome kit for the car ;) It'd fit practically anywhere and I'm looking forward to it. No price available ATM.

Why??? Its obviously to get a bit of a sales boost before the end of the PS2's life, they did the same with the PS1, but it seems pointless.

On a different PS2 related note. The 2 biggest games of the year are not far away, I mean GTA - San Andreas and GT4 I cant wait for them both.

Also GT4 is no longer going to be online multiplayer. :spoton:

Are you serious Dazza? Where did you hear this? It would be a stupid move I reckon, considering the time they've taken to release the game! :gooff:

Cant wait for GT4. Was reading that the mapping of the Nurburgring is accurate to 15mm. As someone who still plays Grand Prix Legends on the PC, solely due to the Nurburgring being included, saying that I am excited about GT4 is a massive understatement.

Can just imagine doing lap after lap of the 'ring in the V10 M5.

No multiplayer will be a big downer if that is the case, as I have only recently gotten dsl at home and was looking forward to buying the network adapter when I bought GT4.

A freind of mine has/is supplying all the hardware and softare to the programers who are building the first PS-3 game in Sydney, he has played a early trial and is unbelievable, DVD quality graphics, I am not much of a Tech head but the PS2 has One 64 somehting processor, the PS3 has 128 of them, just for graphics, he told me it is like watching a DVD movie that you can control.

The game is a cop/detective story set in 1930's USA

I think my next Game consol will be a PS3 for sure.

due late 2005, around Christmas I would guess.

One of my employees at work who is a mad GT lover told me, he read it on a game website that he is a member of. Instead there will be 650 cars in the game and a mode called something like b-tech mode, which basically turns the game into a RTS game, where you dont drive the car but direct it around the track telling it when to brake, overtake and how much throttle to use, kind of a side attraction to the main game but will be fun.

The reason given for no online was that the PS2 just cant cope with it, and since the game has taken so long to come out because the producers of it want it to be perfect, the online component seemed to let it down, to expect it to be in GT5 on PS3.
