Hi guys,

I finished work experience on friday, havent been able to have a look at the forums on the site becuase of my late nights. Getting to the point, on friday, last day of work experience, I see a purple looking typhoon, because I seen it before dont bother going next to it. later on I realise, it onli a two door, so me, quikcly run that way. Well its a nice car, wud be a very powerful UTE, and its got a nice hard top cover on it, which a massive FPV logo on it. My mate, which got me the work experience, which is an engineer has got a GT, and after him seeing the typhoon, his already got the GT up for sale. The typhoon and tornado are surely going to turn heads. :spoton:

So you reckon this ute is going to be a production thing, not just a one-off prototype? What about the name Tornado, is that fair dinkum?

Over on FF a guy reported the same thing.

Imagine, 550Nm in a ute with NO weight in the back :Imwifhim:

Tornado = Drift machine :w00t2:

Actually mate - it will have more weight over the rear wheels than the sedans, so don't get too excited. The utes way over 100kgs more. My XR6 weighs 1950kg with me, fuel and stereo and NOTHING IN THE BACK...

Might be a heavier car but still definately harder to get traction on the ground... and easier to throw the back end around for whatever purpose... Even drifting :ermm:

Actually you'll find that the ute has more grip than the sedans again because it has a longer wheel base and the live beam axel can provide more grip than IRS. IRS is only grippier around corners with bumps, period.

Its mainly the leafs that give the illusion you have less grip because they can't articulate the same as coils and IRS. Once again, its only when bumps come into it.

You'll find that theory holds true for the Expensive Daewoo utes because they have a shorter wheel base, trailing arm IRS, monoque body which weighs less. There fore less weight, less grip, slower car, hence why the Maloo gets pumped by an XR6 Turbo ute or an FPV/XR8 ute. Traction...

your right, if the car is in motion... I based my theory on a standing start...flooring both... the sedan will get better grip then the ute??? is that correct??/ that's just what I was led to believe :spoton:

The sedan should get power down more easily??

Sorry, still not right ... given unmodded standard cars.

Also the solid rear axle of the ute absorbs slightly less power than IRS - not that you'd feel it as a driver but it is measurable.
