It's cheesy, tryhard and rice. I reckon they look good on GT / GTPs, if they were actually painted on and had some quality about them then they would be better. :w00t2: The starter button in the GT is cheesy!Starter button is a bit cheesy but it's a factory fitted item and if I owned a GT I wouldn't be rushing to pull the dash to pieces to remove it. If XR6Ts had stripe as a factory option then it would be a different matter. Having one as a dealer fit option 2 years after the car is released doesn't count IMO. When I think of GT I think of stripes but not on anying else. Each to their own ...what a wonderful democratic society we live in...

Cant agree with you 100% on this one Dewd, adding 20" rims would fall under the bling bling category not rice. Dazza.

Guest GTPChris Guests Posted 28/09/04 02:30 AM Share Posted 28/09/04 02:30 AM (edited) From an owner who has the best of both worlds, I wouldn't be putting stripes on my XR6T. It's cheesy, tryhard and rice.I think the stripes look v.good (depending on the color combo).GTPChris,The GT and XRs are very similar, to say one is rice and the other is not is complete claptrap. Sheer claptrap in my opinion. I dont have the GT stripes but wouldnt rule out getting them. The starter button in the GT is cheesy! You are way off old chap. Tryhard? Perhaps 15% tryhard...but each to their own.If you think stripes on an XR6T is rice then god knows what you think of some of the done-up Hondas n Excels out there.Rice is dumping your car, adding 20" rims, painting your windscreen wipers and covering your car in stickers.Choose your words more wisely nextime old chap. I agree the starter button in the GT is cheesy.Rice - An interesting word. Lets analyse what it means shall we.If I put a GT wing on an Excel, would that be rice?If I put 18 inch GT wheels on an Excel, would that be rice?If I put GT stripes on an Excel, would that be rice?In my opinion, putting anything not suited to the vehicle in a try-hard fashion is rice. This isn't the grammar.com forum and I'll choose my words as I like thank you very much kiddo.FACT - The copycat attempt of placing GT stripes on an XR6T is try-hard and therefore rice. Most in the forum agree, not sure how you can dispute that.Quit being emotive because of your loyality to the Ford family of cars and appreciate that any car can look rice given the circumstances. Guest Guests Posted 28/09/04 03:33 AM Share Posted 28/09/04 03:33 AM I love the look of a GT with stripes, tell me please the old GTs with stripes were they painted on or were they like these cheep stick on 3M jobs running around today.I like the look don't get me wrong but theres somthing about the chang your mind ability these stick on stripes provide that don't sit right with me, stripes on stripes off stripes on stripes off stripes on stripes off. Has anyones stripes faded yet due to the sun? The day will come and they'll look like sh*t.Each to his own, don't mind me I'll just sit here quietly and play with my start button........ Why would anyone bother putting 18's on an EXCEL? RICE!!! It's like putting 18's on a Niki 650. Why why why!?!

Why would anyone bother putting 18's on an EXCEL? RICE!!! It's like putting 18's on a Niki 650. Why why why!?! why would anyone buy a T? why would anyone buy a GT? why would bush bomb iraq? why would Paulene Hanson never stop trying to be a politician? The short answer is because they want to. Now to me there is a very clear line as to what it is rice and what isnt, and an excel with a set of rims on it isnt rice, now the same excel with rims, neons, doof doof, aircraft bodykit, camelion paint job, two 5" exhaust tips and 675 15" sub woofers in it, would be classed as rice.Dazza.
