"Aborigines die on the roads at 3 1/2 times the rate of non-indigenous Australians" I wonder how many of these accidents involve alcohol, in-experianced drivers that got there licence from the corner shop and driving cars that have been modified on the side of the road with old washing machine parts. Maybe thay need to take a good look at better driver training and enforcement of DUI laws.

I agree total..

They won't just let any idiot have a pilots license and you have to keep your hours up to keep your pilots license....

Any restrictions on car licenses, NO.

You can get one, not go near a car for years, but you are still allowed to drive..

Lets get the Driver Education happening, and perhaps we can cut the road toll..

Coming accross the nullabour from WA to SA I was initianlly doing bout 160kph and you'd see lines accross the road occasionaly, so the planes could time you between points, I had to slow down anyway, cause I had like $115 in my pocket to get all the way across, and worked out half way accross I wasnt going to make it, anyway slowed to 90-100ks and finshed up in Port Augusta with $5 in the pocket and bout 1/8th tank gas. That wassnt in the T though ( I'd have never made it)

Anyone driven from Renmark to Mildura at the 100kph Victorian speed limit?Ridiculous.Boring.Dangerous.

Yep, but I missed most of the scenery 'cos I was asleep. Just woke up evry now 'n' agin' to check my speedo ...

:w00t2::sick:

Your not bloody wrong!!

I've also noticed that around road works, at a few places I've seen the speed limit has been dropped from 80 to 60. Then once the road works are completed (eg. dual carrige way) the speed limit still remains at 60!!

One day I think we'll see all cars limited to 5km/h on a highway!!

I reckon they're trying to make it so that everyone will walk instead of drive (because it will be faster). Sure there won't be any crashes, but everyone will spend 5 hours a day travelling to and from work! :spoton: On a positive, we'd get lots of exercise.
