And is this Scruby fcukwit trying to protect all of the pedestrians out wandering the unrestricted highways of the NT? Or does the pedestrian council really only exist to p1ss off the motorists of Australia?

Crazy. The whole outback should have no speed limit! You cross the NT border into SA and drop from 160 kph+ to 110 kph. Why?All the way to Port Augusta should be unlimited imho.Same deal in WA,NSW and Qld.Anyone driven from Renmark to Mildura at the 100kph Victorian speed limit?Ridiculous.Boring.Dangerous.

I heard a quote from dick johnson on the weekend.

" I always said, dont ban high performance cars, ban low performance drivers"

if your not capable of driving on a road with an unrestricted speed limit, you shouldn't have a licence.

now if you would excuse me, im off to NT while I can!

"Aborigines die on the roads at 3 1/2 times the rate of non-indigenous Australians" I wonder how many of these accidents involve alcohol, in-experianced drivers that got there licence from the corner shop and driving cars that have been modified on the side of the road with old washing machine parts. Maybe thay need to take a good look at better driver training and enforcement of DUI laws.

Dick J states it quite well. If u cant drive simply dont. Driving is a priveledge and is not a right. However every one does have the right to attempt the appropriate driving tests...

Mature drivers pulling caravans (or not) crusing along straight and level single carriage lane roads at 90/95 but no sooner an over taking possibility exists, they accelerate at warp speed, Sydney taxi/courier drivers, Sydney bus drivers who think they went to the same driving school as Dickie J and reckon that there 40ton of steel can not manovure but stop just as quick as the average car, Learner Driver cars that actually dont indicate there is or isnt a learner at the wheel of that car, people who fear or simply just cant (and shouldnt) be driving (just check out the roads next to the local school and/or shopping centres at the start or conclusion of the schooling day), people who cant compherend the meaning of "Keep Left unless overtaking" or "Slow vehicle prohibited on this freeway."

Cars dont kill, moronic drivers do! :spoton:

All roads out there should have "un-restricted" limit on them within reason. If its a straight bit of split dual carriage road (which a lot of it is) then the speed limit should be higher than the moronic limit of 110. For heaven sake, the royal flying doctors use the actual Nullabour hwy as the runway slip. I bet that aircraft is doing more then 110 upon touch down!!!

Its all a good laugh when you know that just about all pollies speed as fast as damn well like. Speed limits dont apply to them.
