Hi everyone,

my T now has 4000k on the clock and has developed a squeek in the rear suspension.

Going in to be fixed on Monday (2nd attempt)

Anyone else have similar probs?

thanks

Alan

yeah same deal. its like a sqeaky back seat, but it comes and goes depending on the conditions of weather.

Sounds like its in the rear parcel shelf, and im stuffed if I can fully locate it. Its probably originating from the suspension and amplifying through to the rear of the cabin.

Good luck getting it fixed

I've had a squeak in the rear of the car since I picked it up. When I got the rear seats folded forwards it's a hell of a lot louder...will get it looked at when I get to 15k...

Ive had this problem since new (the parcel shelf noise), just got back now from my dealers 2nd attempt to fix it (among other things) and its seems to be ok for now, a few more k's will tell me if its right. I still have the creaking sound from the rear sussy only when I accellerate from a standstill. ill give this 2 weeks to settle. if not, its back to the dealer.

Cheers

Jim

Poor Maryanne - of course she's gonna squeak louder if you fold the seats down on her.

Why dontcha let her ride in the front with you? Is it that she's too scared - I'd be more frightenend in the back the way you park against trees.

She's too scared up front, something about a Kangaroo comming at her...

Wish you hadn't said that - just got a phone call from Therese. She's is just out of Goulburn and has taken out a roo and half the front of her car. Luckily still drivable so she is limping home.

alanb007> Apologies for hijacking your thread - well, in Ken's absence, someone has to do it ... :gooff:

Well, the squeek has finally been fixed. I had spent some time chasing the dreaded noise and I had traced it to the driver side rear suspensi n assembly.

To me, it felt like the main spring.

Well, the Ford dudes tell me that I was actually right. They reseated the spring (and no doubt lubricated the ends)

So, my T is nice and quiet again. I had not realised how noisy it was.

I just love this car!

I have had the noise since they dropped the whole rear end to fix the diff leak. Sounds like the rear parcel shelf area however it is definitely suspension related.

My car has been in about 10 times for this problem. Total days off the road have been close to 20. You would not believe the work they have done to the car to eliminate the noise. We even got to the stage where there were welds to the rear parcel shelf, to welds in the body seams. They thought the body was flexing. Then we got to the stage of taking parts out of the rear of the car on each visit to isolate the problem ie boot trim, spare tyre, trim under the parcel shelf and so on. Each time the noise was still there.

Finally they looked at the suspension. It appears that they didn't put the thing back together in the first place. They said they dropped the rear end again and put it back together. Car was going great for 2 weeks, however after driving from Sydney to Brisbane and back over the weekend and then to work today it is starting to rear its ugly head again.

Might have a chat to the Service boys again tomorrow, they haven't heard or seen me for 2 weeks now.
