My dealer doesnt even know of the software upgrade could you let us know when its been released.

Also I note the bonnet switch is just earthed to be triggered, other sensors could be added to earth the same sensor wire.

My alarm id the sentry brand, Ford dealer fitted and it does the same thing.

I have a Sentry alarm and it beeps once to show that its armed. Is yours the upgrade alarm?

Hi Chris,

Finally took delivery last Friday of my XR6T from City Ford.

What a great car !!!

Like you, I opted for the Sentry Alarm upgrade.

Much to my surprise, the appear to be no movement sensors in the cabin.

My other 2 fords EB & EL both had movement sensors when I chose the smartlock upgrades.

Does your's have sensors ?

Thanks,

Murray...

Does anyone else have problems with the alarm not disarming when you open the boot without deactivating the alarm? Most times BUT NOT ALWAYS, if I press the boot release without unlocking the doors first, the alarm beeps twice and when I open the boot the alarm is triggered. The anoying thing is that SOMETIMES it beeps three times and the alarm is not triggered :thumbsup:

I have a factory alarm fitted to my xr but now it doesnt beep to tell me its locked as it used to.

Is this the alarm, the installation or its programming?

Hi

Have you had the car in for service recently ? I had a V8 XT in at a dealership and they turned the alarm off (Sentry alarm, small keyswitch on the back of the speaker) when it was in for service ! I wasn't impressed  , as I was out of the country for 2 weeks and my wife didn't know that it was meant to beep... It had been parked all over the place without the alarm on :( ! Wonder if the dealership would have come up with the $$$$$ if it had been stolen ? (I think that my insurer might have had something to say about this as well !)

That's the last time I leave the set (key, remote, glove compartment and alarm) of keys with the dealer !

I have to unlock the car then open the boot and if I dont open a door it rearms and goes off, and does anyone know how to disconnect the battery without the alarm going off

The info I got from my man at Ford said pretty much what has been said here. They are awaiting the upgrade. The new ones should beep as the BEM's have been factory programed. And as for the boot thing I suffer from the same prob. But mine never beeps three times it just picks and chooses when to go off. Some times it does and other time it dosent. Im waiting for my first service to give the Guys at my dealership time to get the right stuff and and to use other cars as guniea cops. It appears to be a Ford thing and all the mechanics I've talked to are getting peeeedddd offff.

Yes, upgrade still not here - c'mon Ford, how long are we expected to wait to have our damn cars serviced properly and operating as they should? We don't mind minor glitches but these delays are inexcusable.

Well I just got a call from Darren a CSR from Ford Melbourne, his words "There is no BEM update the alarm does not chirp as advertised and never will. And are unaware of any other alarm related issues."

Anyone else heard a different story?

It has been well documented in the threads what the "story" is - so THIS is the "different" story - Might have to make a call myself tomorrow to 13FORD to see what is the "truth" of the matter. I wonder if ANYONE in Ford actually knows or can tell the "truth"????
