the shush shush brake noise is very embarrasing and it is so damn loud. We had a cruise a few months back and when I pulled up it was louder than ever...everyone was looking at the wheels as I drove past and I was like....yup...definately noticable. When I got out....a few comments were passed and yes I agree...it is embarrasing! :w00t2:

It's REALLY loud and really embarassing in carparks (sorry, that sounds really snobby of me, but it does).

Its heeeaps annoying! I cannot stand it but it is very common in newer cars.

I wanna know why our AU doesn't do it, and the BA does?

I don't have a problem in the Turbo with brakes rubbing, but my AUII does it constantly.

rednut99: Sorry mate, I just cannot agree with you about the handbrake. It's not normal (not every BA Falcon does it, just a 'significant number'). And they can 'fix' it for a period of time, so surely something is wrong? Have you had the sound yourself? It's REALLY loud and really embarassing in carparks (sorry, that sounds really snobby of me, but it does). And the wind sound was annoying but I let it go for 20000K's because I figured that it wasn't such a big deal (just crank up the stereo), but I mentioned it to my lease provider, and they submitted it as a fault to my local dealership.

I agree with you in principle, there will be niggles about a new car, and it won't be perfect ever, but most of the things I've complained about are really annoying considering my sh*tty little 14 yr old 626 didn't have that many problems. And the sheer number of times I've had to return for the SAME PROBLEM is really what I'm talking about, not the number of problems. I know that there are guys here with undriveable cars being towed in, and I'm thankful that my problems have been minor and mainly cosmetic in nature. :)

Ok - that's fair enough, Maybe my car does suffer from some of these symptoms, but because I am fairly tolerant and laid back kind of guy, I guess they just don't bother me as much. I shouldn't make out like its you ro something. Sorry about that.

As for offering me a job LOL! If it pays more than $70K p.a. then I may consider it, but until then... I'll just keep sleeping with my local dealer :censored:

DO NOT go to JMF Ford in Belconnen, the Woden guys were ok, but because of John's attitude about what his monkeys in Belco did, I don't go there either, he's lost my business. Check this link for details: JMG Ford

I think I've heard the handbrake noise once or twice. Last time I heard it I'd just released the handbrake and there was a squeal when I took off slowly. I stopped and re-did it up and down and all was good again.

Somebody wrote on another post that if you engage your handbrake(1 or 2 clicks) whilst doing about 50-60Kph and then release it, it makes the sound disappear. I tried that myself and it works. You just have to keep doing it every few hundred K's or so.
