I found out from him that as we were speaking they were in fact unloading a LOT of cars from a Japan bound freighter at Hamilton wharves (for those of you in Brisbane). So, after some directions, off we went hoping maybe, just maybe, my ute may be one of those on that ship. When we rocked up, big fences and not real good visability for car spotting. After walking up the fence and embankment a little (looking like a right royal tosser probably), I happened to spot some Citric Acid cars - and two were UTES!!A lady who was checking the cars came down to see what I was looking for/at and I told her my story and then asked if she could check the SIDO numbers on the utes to see if one was in fact mine. She walked back down the row of cars, the fifth car back and a Citric Acid ute and then it came, THUMBS UP!But wait, there's more. Hoping to try my luck, we drove down to the entrance of the holding yard. I walked up to the gate and luck (unbelievably so) was on my side. The guy in the office was someone I worked casually with about 7 years ago and he remembered me!! So, guess who got a visitors pass and got to go down and physically touch and jump in the tray of their new ute?? It was the only turbo XR there (I could see anyway) with 18's. The holding yard had a number of XRs in there of all types. There were another 4 xr turbo utes I quickly saw. I only wish I had taken my digital camera! Mmmmmm, those leather seats and a whopping 7km on the odo.The moral is, don't believe a word that your dealer tells you, because most likely, they have no idea where your car is and how it is getting there - mine didn't until I told him this morning. The sticker on the windscreen said OK to Ship 25 February. Damn slow transport!!!!!So either Monday or Tuesday afternoon collection. Finally, and at least the car is here in Brisbane and no longer just a number to me.

My ute was the first Citric Acid ute I have seen in the flesh and I am SO happy I picked that colour now. It is even better than I anticipated. The 18's look awesome and the leather seats........ My dealer is trying to organise us to go and get the car ourselves from the holding yard and drive it (me - of course) to the dealership. Kills two birds with one stone, gets there quicker and no-one else has to drive the car in PD!!!!!!!!!It is handy knowing people sometimes.............
