instro Member 67 Member For: 18y 8m 30d Location: South Coast NSW Posted 09/02/07 09:58 AM Share Posted 09/02/07 09:58 AM Yeah it happened with a car I was selling. Had it on ebay, some lowlife grabbed all the photos and details (including the rego)from my add and listed it on drive.com for about a third of the redbook value. They gave a dodgy phone number and a hotmail address. The scam goes like this, eager buyer finds bargain they have to have, the phone number doesnt work emails go back and forth, a deposit goes through western union money transfer......buyer gets ripped off.The police weren't interested, ebay weren't interested all drive offered to do was remove the add. Caveat emptor, I can't believe anyone would still fall for these types of scams.
