Hey Dan,

Smells fishy to me.. Even if the numbers checkout, doesn't mean this person is the owner. This person might have taken the photo and copied the numbers off the rego label. They might use a fake eBay account, and take your money and disappear.

How much are they asking? If I knew anyone in Tas I would ask them to take a look for you. Sorry mate.

Cheers

Nige

mk2 badge is on the boot NVT so unless ya know the subtle body styling differences it is hard to pick

if ya had the vin number im sure you could find out from fpv if it is a mk1 or mk2

that would also let you check the write off register :stupid:

Thanks guys,

There is no MKII Badge on the rear, but I thought the MKII's had the grey coloured fog light inserts, and those R-SPEC styled rims...

I have all the VIN and chassis numbers I need. If he wasn't/isn't the owner - How can he know so much about it?

But... If I check the REVS, write-off registry, Owner papers (Rego) and (Down the track) RAC check, is there anything else I can do to check?

Nige, now that you mention it, the car pictures all look like they've been taken at a yard... I thought he would have taken them when he bought it...

No-one here is from TAS are they :stupid:

Cheers,

Dan

^ He says transport comes in the price. I'll have to sort out what 'transport' means exactly with him...

And for all you waiting for the price - He is asking $25,000...

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks Rooster,

But what else can I do to make sure this is as safe as possible besides what I have listed?

What are my chances of realistically getting a good deal in this situation...?

Cheers,

Dan

If the transport is included, the it sounds even more like a scam. It is also a bit too cheap to be legit
