Looking at getting my T's windows tinted darker. Anyone had this done already? Any pics would be appreciated. What's the asking price to get it done? What company in Melbourne is the best.

Any info appricated :spoton:

Aly

I got mine done from ford as an option, I didnt have to pay for it as that was part of their suck up package, but I would assume there is tint-a-car in melbourne and you should be able to get it done for about $300 with a lifetime warranty.

Careful what sort of tint you get as some people have problems with metallic tint interfering with radio reception. Do a search under 'tint' and you will find previous discussions on the subject.

I would suggest Solace tinting. I've been using them for the past 5 cars I've had and always got 20% fully metallic put on.

I have never had any radio reception problems on FM. I do how ever have problems with AM but could not care less.

It's a shame your not in Sydney or Canberra. I can get any tints you want for $200.

AM reception is shocking on mine, and it has factory tint, it sucks trying to listen to the football. I find it is only bad when there is powerlines overhead.

Hey Daz,had the same prob after getting it tinted, turned out some dick put back a roll of metallic film in the wrong place, and they used it on my back window

They had to replace it with non metal and its fine now.

ford send it out to be done anyway, get the dopey monkeys to check it out

I got offered to get it done at the dealership for some rediculous price like $400 for 35% but ended up getting the special tint (radio reception), 15% for $200. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near you so can't really help other than to say shop around and warranty is always a good thing.

Miss Aly -the tint affects the radio becasue the ariel is on the back windscreen (the two brown lines running vertically up and down) hence the metalliuc type tints screwing with it, there is a non metallic tint that doesnt interfere with reception. Of course if you have a normal stick type arial than metallic tint wont affect it either way.
