Hmmm  My brain could not accept those figures - to get 155KW gain on a WRX you are talking $25K, and being off the road a fair bit.

To get that sort of performance out of a daily driver, is outside my perception of reality as tempered by Subaru....

Lukkyphil

I'll give you another perspective, as things have changed.

You can now double the power of a rex, say from 120awkw to 240awkw for around $13k, starting from a stock vehicle, and using a 2.5L STi short-block, and with good drivabilty (e.g with a VF22 you can get 1bar boost at 2500rpm!). My 1200kg STi is currently being transformed, so it'll be an interesting comparison with my XR6T. I think it's similar bfyb.

Brian

Yeah the availability of the US STi 2.5L block has changed things a bit, you no longer have to go with mdified 2.5NA blocks out of Liberty, and JUN, PerFOURmance or the like stroker kits.

Yet to see any built 2.5L motors in cars over here, a couple of guys have started the process but are still a bit away from completion.

On the XR6T, APS stage 2 Kit @ $4.5K and an additional 90KW, is pretty damned good bang for buck.

Xarhsixturbo, That is amazing #'s Makes me wish the XR6 turbo was here even more each time I see these #'s I do alot of driving up and down the turnpike. The XR6 T would be perfect for this job. Big comfortible and easy to make powerful. Plenty of M5 etc around here, would easily eat them up on the highways with 350+kw @ the treads :)

I'm drooling at the prospect of 80rwkw's more at the treads than mine.

xarh6turbo...

were you the guy on the ls1 forums not long ago that sold his gto (yellow in colour) to get the t.

I thought you were crazy at the time because I would have loved to get a hsv coupe but after owning a t can (sort of) see why you made the desicion.

Are nizpro recommending this course of action? That much power with stock internals?

Steve,

I think Adam will destroy his T5 before the internals let go.

It depends upon how agressively it's driven.

Nizpro don't recommend stock internals at such power levels; Adam has bigger plans for the future, and if it breaks you just throw some money at it.

Nizpro will cater for individual requirements as required, and do make us aware of the risks, as you're well aware.
