it had 203rwkw before mods

EEEEEKKKK 55Kw Gain. To quote Big Kev "I'm Excited"

To get another 60KW out of my WRX, involved the following:

ECU Re-Map

Bigger Injectors (550cc)

Fuel Rails

Fuel Pump

3" S/S Turbo-back Exhaust

VF34 Turbo

New IC.

A bucket load of labour.

And 18psi of boost, that hit like a freight train, or was non-existant.

About $9K, then it cost another $4.5K to get the suspension to the point where it was drivable with the power out put. I imagine you are talking about $4-5K for the work you had done. Bargain.

Looking forward to actually getting mine delivered and run-in.

Nope.

remember 2L not 4L. Of course being 400kg lighter and AWD does help get the power down.

To get 330KW out of a Suby, you need to stroke-it.

Remember dynos are tuning tools, there is a lot of variation between different dynos, or even the same dyno on different days.

My readings on the WRX varied from 155KW to 206KW depending on the dyno....

You can really only go by before and after dyno runs, on the same dyno, in similar temperature and humidity conditions to get a measure of the the impreovement that your mods and tunig have achieved.

I think you missed my point there Phil, I meant that xarh6turbo got 155kw gain, not 55kw as you posted.

or was that a typo?

Mark.

Hmmm My brain could not accept those figures - to get 155KW gain on a WRX you are talking $25K, and being off the road a fair bit.

To get that sort of performance out of a daily driver, is outside my perception of reality as tempered by Subaru....

I'll give you another perspective, as things have changed.

You can now double the power of a rex, say from 120awkw to 240awkw for around $13k, starting from a stock vehicle, and using a 2.5L STi short-block, and with good drivabilty (e.g with a VF22 you can get 1bar boost at 2500rpm!). My 1200kg STi is currently being transformed, so it'll be an interesting comparison with my XR6T. I think it's similar bfyb.

Guys here in the states are making anywhere between 300-315hp@wheels on the stock VF39 on the 2.5ltr STi. A guy I know went with a APS SR55 and made 365hp@wheels in 30°+ heat and 90%+ humidity... Simular powered cars (Garrett GT30R, FP Green) are all running 11.6-11.8's. This is the newest shape car too, so it weighs 1475kg or so.

Edit: For comparision the stock STi's make around 240hp@wheels on the dyno he run 365 on...
