I was under the impression that APS charged dealers a fee ($8000+) for the assurance that APS will not sell direct to customers, but remain a distributor of the UNICHIP to other resellers..could be why a few dealers have quit.am I right? aps Member 1,505 Member For: 21y 8m 6d Posted 15/09/04 02:17 AM Share Posted 15/09/04 02:17 AM Mate that may well be the case , but I certainly wouldn't want to be potentially starving my T of fuel under WOT through each gear, would you ? Julian with the correctly sized multi orifice fuel injectors and with the engine thoroughly tuned to the intended power level.........the stock Ford fuel pump has more than sufficient fuel volume and pressure to maintain safe air fuel ratios/mixtures under full load high RPM operating conditions. We have been testing the T in this configuration for over 12 months and APS is now confident to release the phase 11 system in this specification................we never guess at what may occur as we always conduct significant in field testing to ensure safe engine operation before making any change to the APS system. It also fair to say that when APS released the original phase 11 system (with the big Bosch fuel pump) that APS was being overly cautious with the fuel system specification as we have seen many stock fuel pumps (in other factory turbo cars) drop fuel pressure and fuel flow over the journey, thankfully the stock ford fuel pump does not drop in performance at the phase 11 power level.Botttom line...........a large high volume fuel pump can be installed at any time, it's simply another choice for the customer to make, though it's not a necessary item at Phase 11 power.
