Not bashing but the paint is thin, I am sure Ford are'nt the only only ones, at the end of the day stone chips are a part of driving on the roads, if you want to avoid them, leave the car in the garage........ :gooff:

Blueprint shows up the stone chips. So I got my car done with the Polaris stoneguard film. The stoneguard is not noticeable on the car and has done the job of limiting the chips at the front, loading area of the boot, door handles.

I've been banging the drum for the Polaris stuff on here for 6 months. Cant give it a too bigger wrap.

Bras look crap compared to this almost invisible film. The only thing I have found so far is that it wont stop a bullet sized stone from cracking your foggies. (Get the Territory covers for these).

Where can you get it done? :spoton:

I have just checked the paint thickness on my car with a calibrated digital coating thickness guage.

The doors & roof were approx 110 - 115um, whilst the bonnet was around 120 - 130 um.

I checked a workmates Saab, and it had 110um average on the bonnet, whilst our Mitsubishi Triton ute had only 75-80 um on the bonnet.

Cheers

Ouch JB !

I thought that my field trip to the car park & subsequent results would have warranted a nobel prize for services to science, not public ridicule........

but to answer your question..... um yeah just a bit of spare time .

 Yeah, not really having a go, just seems like everytime non work stuff is done someone thinks it's smart to have a go! :ermm: Mind you I admire the fact that you had the thought to go and measure and work it out.

Probably like me now writing this post! Someone's bound to try and be smart!

Well, I'd love you to measure the thickness on my T. Even the Late model camira I HAD to drive prior to the T had better quality paint work than Ford have put on this one. Even my XE lasted better than the crap Ford painted with one with.
