Guest Prev Guests Posted 12/09/04 02:24 AM Share Posted 12/09/04 02:24 AM Any of you have heaps of stone chips on the bonnet of your XR's?? My T is 6 months old and I have about 6 chips already. Not as if I go rally driving or anything, just the regular commute to work and weekend outings. I've had many other cars doing the same trips everyday and none of them were this bad.... especially only 6 months into it.Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Do you reckon it worth complaining to Ford about it? and see what can be done under warranty??? I bought the Blueprint version for $14 if I recall. Stone chips are normal wear & tear in my books. Guest Lukkyphil Guests Posted 12/09/04 06:37 AM Share Posted 12/09/04 06:37 AM Have had the same issues with my WRX.Subaru basically will do nothing as well. Just get you bonnet resprayed every six months :-)Probably something to do with bonnet slope and the way that the cars are driven, not to mention the generally abyssmal condition of our roads. Just another example of how Ford has taken the shine off what is a really a leader of the pack when it comes to all round spirited driver enjoyment. Not a ford problem wih this maybe take it up with RTA as they make the roads that these stone chips come from not ford.We have a bonnet protector and have only on chip on the bonnet after 60000 km's.Ian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/12819-stone-chips/#findComment-164414 Share on other sites

I is all car manufactures that use the same paints if you want to blame the paint talk to the do gooders that complain about the effects the older paints had on the envoiment as it is these guys that forced paint to be water base and not as tough as it was some years ago. This ford bashing for every thing that happens is getting abit on the nose.Ian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/12819-stone-chips/#findComment-164418 Share on other sites
