Guest j0n3zy@hotmail.com Guests Posted 14/03/03 06:56 AM Share Posted 14/03/03 06:56 AM As you can see I am new to this forum, so please excuse my inexperience. I have recently put and order in for a blueprint XR6T, and never got around to trying the standard sound system in any falcon. I ws just wondering as to how is fairs compared to the premium sound system, and whether it is substantial. Otherwise I may pause the order and swith to the more powerful system...j0n3zy

Do a search if you want to see what's been said, but the general consensus is that the premium audio is the way to go.P.S. Congratulations on ordering such a great car! :auto:
Guest BAnter Guests Posted 14/03/03 10:00 PM Share Posted 14/03/03 10:00 PM Get to the dealers ASAP and ask them to let you play with both systems. Bring along a couple of your favourite CDs - by all means try the radio on FM for quality, but you'll not get much idea of quality on radio. Then listen to the difference between premium and standard for yourself. For my taste, neither sound much good - but I am used to good quality hifi sound in my car. Many people would be happy with the premium sound for the $900 extra. The only way you can tell is to listen for yourself.

Guest Xr6Tas Guests Posted 15/03/03 06:45 AM Share Posted 15/03/03 06:45 AM Considering the extreme difficulty with upgrading the sound system in the future (in fact it’s a near impossibility unless you install a completely new separate system), you are much better off paying the extra $900 and getting a good sound system now.The standard sound system is very average, with muffled highs, almost non-existant mid range, and severely lacking bass. The Premium system on the other hand does have a much more balanced sound with nice punchy bass and clear crisp treble. It’s also capable of going much louder with distortion. Not to mention you get a 6 CD in dash stacker. It’s not perfect, far from it, but it’s a major step up from the standard system. For $900 it's definitely worth doing. You’ll regret it later if you don't!

You can always upgrade speakers and amp later if it's still not good enough.
