Hi All,

I finally got a DVD-ROM in my box <trust me...it hurt> and I'm wanting to try and rip and DVD or two. Now what do people use to facilitate this backing up process.

One guy I asked said to use xVid but is that just the codec or is that a whole program?

I just want it to be free or easy to make free and give good compression etc. Also if you could point me to a download or if I can pick it up with Sharezza etc?

What setting do you use for the program?

For example for my MP3's I use: Audiograbber 1.82 <Full> with the Lame MP3 Codec Ver 3.93 with the settings at 320Kbps, Dual Stereo, High Quality.

Lil Help?

Cheers,

Lumpy :crybaby:

dvd xcopy express or dvd shrink both are good xcopy is a no brainer. Put disc in press start button. when the disc comes out and it asks you to insert a blank disc, insert blank disc and press start again, presto all done.

Another vote for dvdshrink - it's a bloody good program and it's FREE :D

Last time I used dvd xcopy crap - it put "this is the backup copy" logo when you watch it. There is ways to remove that crap, but couldn't be bother with it as dvdshrink does the job.

Another program I used sometimes is dvd decrypter.
