It's certainly hard to keep the T under the speed limit at times. But there's always the speed alert thingy and a cruise control button. I keep forgetting the speed alert thingy is there though.

what speed alert thingy?? scratches head.... help me out guys

I drive a similar numeber of k's a year. I have lost 2 points (on a double demerit weekend as well.. and that was cause a certain girl only left 45 mins to get from Ryde to the airport.

Anhow I digress, 12 points is heaps if you drive safely and senseibly all the time.

The 12 gives you lots of headroom for those occasional mistakes.

I think its fair.. I just don't like the double demerit points for us guys who drive a lot.

my 2 cents worth

Mate, havent used it for a while, but from memory it is the cruise control button behind the wheel, hold it down????? for a few seconds I think, and on your display where DTE etc is shown, you can adjust the speed you want your alert set for. Correct me if this is not quite right guys.

If you hold the mode select button for a few seconds you will see the speed alert on your dash.

The button I'm talking about is on the back of the steering wheel for the audio controls.

To adjust speed use the volume buttons.

Over the years I've also lost my licence a couple of times and am often driving on no points, like right now. So in the eyes of most I suppose I'm a bad driver. So be it, I can live with that. So save your breath (fingers) and don't bother flaming me you damn do-gooders 'cos I've been hearing it for years and it's like water off a duck's back to me now.

Having only twelve points I don't think bothers me too much but the thought of being booked for say 15-30km/h over the limit (3 points) twice within three years and both within a double demerit point time will encure a licence suspension. that's a total loss of twelve points in only two bookings and then having to tell your insurance comany that yes I have had my licence suspended.

As you can see I'm not a firm believer in the double demerit point system.
