(I was planning on leaving the standard rotors on the back....)Will changing the front setup upset the front/rear brake balance ? According to this AutoSpeed article there's a matching QFM compound for the rear brakes (RB62), would it be worth throwing a set of these into the car at the same time ? Thanks,Scott Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/12761-brake-mods/ Share on other sites

Thanks,Scott Scott,There is no point in putting pads that can only handle 300 - 450 degree's on a rotor that can handle 750 degree's.I'd get a more agressive pad, such as ferodo formula to aid in the stopping process.Ultimatly I'd go bigger brakes all round if I were you. Maybe not to the extent that Mick and Brian have, but something along those lines. That is what I did with mine, and it was fine through several track days, and normal road use. Stage 3? Well they are proving a little scarey at the moment Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/12761-brake-mods/#findComment-163264 Share on other sites

Took great care with bed-in procedure - no squeal almost no dust (same as standards) have bedded in really evenly. Discussed options at length with various OEMs prior to upgrade. DBA recommended the setup. Am impressed, the hotter they get the more they seem to hold on, have not induced fade yet, left the rears as is (as per DBA recommendation) they then said either Comp 02s or Lucas would be good rear partners when replacing the rear pads. Both Ferodos and Ultimates are also good pad options except for the copious amounts of dust produced. Also flushed through with Penrite Comp synthetic fluid.Concerning the temp of the RB74s someone is using eroneous info ...QUOTE:RB74 - This is a pad that's been well proven in sprint races under cars such as HSVs, WRXs and other turbo cars. Creating little wear, it gives a coef of 0.43 at up to 500 degrees C. It also works well on the street, with very good low temperature effectiveness.Dingah Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/12761-brake-mods/#findComment-163300 Share on other sites

Got it in one.If you wanna put Bendix in your car then I'll give you a set for nothing that I have under the house. Why are they under my house I hear you say because there good for nothing. Posted 11/09/04 01:59 AM Share Posted 11/09/04 01:59 AM put 4000 series on front and rear to keep the car looking as it should.it does look a bit funny with only slotted disks on the front.I used ferodo formula on front and rear, they stop well and only slightly less dust than the standard pads.
