I used to use the woolworths fuel then I changed to water and green cordial for a much better result

my special mix is 3 parts water to1 part cordial :pinch:

man change the mixture to 3 parts cordial to one part water, like running NOS, you might wanna get a gearbox upgrade first. :crybaby:

Has any1 experienced/tried bumping up the RON rating past 98 and "ran it" thru the T?

I take it you mean using an octane booster? No I havent, I dont think anything but fuel should go in the fuel tank, though I think a few guys have tried using 100/104 ron raceing fuel.

Hmm not sure about on XR6T's, but I know on WRXs Octane Booster should be used most sparingly as they tend to kill off your Oxygen sensor in the exhaust.

E/S Dyno runs also found Optimax to have a higher calorific value (energy content) than Ultimate 98. This is largely irrelevant in WA as Ultimate 98, is the only 98 octane fuel which meets our more stingent fuel legislation, so is the fuel of choice (in fact the only choice) for most WRX owners.

If you run higher boost the Vortex is no good as the RON is only 95 I think, anyhow, I get detonation if I use Vortex.

Vortex is 95 most places, but 96 in Queensland - must be some statutory rule on fuel specs or something.

A bit of news. I have been told that Caltex are just about to roll out a 98 RON fuel. They are calling it 'Vortex 98' or something like that.
