I have put this same post into a diffrent thread as well

In todays local paper... it says quote"typhoon will showcase the introduction of the new close-ratio tremec t56 six-speed manual transmission. The six-speed manual will also become standard equiptment in the MKII FPV GT, GT-P, and pursuit"

now it does not mention the T getting the new box??? is this the case?? or is it a certainty the T will also have it???

If it doesnt... any manual buyers should purchase now.... and save before the T comes out with the same box!!!!!

This is just what ive read this morning... and does not mean it is right :smilielol:

Interesting Jetute, I was away when all this tpoic of the T56 came up so I just went with the belief of what the forum was discussing, I actually have not seen any confirmation.

I asked my service manager when I was in there the other day, and either he was feeding me :smilielol: or he said they have had no confirmation of when the series 2 is due, let alone what the specifications will be. I said then why are you all having a run out sale, he could not answer. :smilielol:

jetute - below is part of the press release from Ford's website.

"The BA MkII XR6 Turbo and XR8 confirms Ford as the manufacturer providing enthusiast cars for enthusiast drivers.

"Drivers will appreciate the improved performance feel, while still having a gearbox that offers tractable performance through all the gears at typical driving speeds.

"Fifth gear is well suited to the 60 km/h speed limit and sixth gear pulls strongly below 100 km/h offering peace-of-mind motoring. The close ratios in the new gearbox make it easy to select the right gear for the right occasion." :spoton:

Jetute, I bet they just copied the article from Unique Cars as they stated the 5 speed as well.

The latest Wheels has a story " BAII Shifts up a gear" and talks about the 6 speed having the unconfirmed ratios of the Mustang.

Intrestingly they have some stats about the Manuals in the XR range being 18% of sales, yet in the XR6T is 25% and XR8 is 40%. This must mean that not many XR6 N/A's are manual :spoton:

They misses the stats that 80% of manuals have the undesired clunk option as factory fitted :banghead:

Zap-

This article in the local paper is actually an article from Q Ford as it has their name and phone number on it... (the reporter, page 36, under motoring)

they just obviously forgot to seperately mention the T as getting the new box as well. And I fell for it straight away as was todays latest news!!

I think 5 speed is standard,

6 the option.. only on T. not NA

from MOTOR

if its an option... I wonder what the $ difference would be...... and if it is an option the new box should pretty much fit straight in without any major work to the driveline etc..

Can you think of something original to say please? :nono: worse than a broken record!

If you have a problem with clunk, go post it under the clunk thread!
