Phido Member 58 Member For: 21y 6m 18d Posted 05/09/04 11:20 PM Share Posted 05/09/04 11:20 PM XR gets a good range of changes to make MkII a worthwhile upgrade, for XR. XT gets a reasonable upgrade as well (although I would much perfer a runout SR falcon) The rest of the range effectively does not get a upgrade at all. LWB cars look like losing the $6k of free extras/cash give away and will not get anything except a mkII badge. SR and classic go back to XT, all XR runout deals will cease. While minor changes may not hurt resale in the long term, if they start to discount Mkii to move them (IMHO I think they will) then resale will drop like a stone. But then again good points are made about devaluing the series 1.If anyone would know with the T5 being replaced with the T56 does that mean that the T56 would bolt straight onto the series 1? Or does the that mean there has been some re-engineering to adapt the T56 to the T's housing? Would be interested to know particularly if you have probs with your current T5 and they replace it under warranty, could you request them to install the T56 instead? Where-as gmh traditionally just discount all over the place reducing resale faster then a virgin in brothel. Ford simply just throws more into the package itself. Just wish they'd make a XrT style Territory.... with a touch more boost pressure for the extra weight gain.... Its auto plus I got about $5500 discount! So I didnt really see any point in buying a Mark II badge, plus I got the 18 inch rims which stayed the same on Mark II neways. I think its good to a certain extent, helps resale in the long run.
