After a Great day on the Cruise with the other forum members up to Bowral / Kiama / Picton we were driving back to Sydney and got caught by golf ball sized hail after exiting the harbour tunnel. The bonnet is stuffed and there are a few dents on the roof and boot :spoton:

I guess tis will be my first ever insurance claim in 15 years of driving

I hope everyone in Sydney have their T's safley undercover.

It was hailing pea sized hail as I went through the toll gates at the eastern distributor, and was happy to get into the tunnel, but upon exiting the end of the harbour tunnel it was like someone was throwing rocks at the car. I had my wife place her hands on the windscreen to stop it shattering as I thought it would. I could see the golf ball hail hitting the screen and bonnet and splintering. There was a M430 Merc 4x4 a few cars infront that got a big hit and shattered his windscreen. There was also a commadore in front that got hit by what looked like a baseball right in the middle of his roof. I would say that there will be HEAPS of claims on cars as there were plenty being pounded on the freeway.

As I was on the freeway, there was nowhere to stop and shelter. All the underpasses were blocked by cars, but by the time I hit the Falcon Street exit the damage was done. I will try to get some pics once its light and the car is dry, but I doubt it will show much on a silver car.

The road looked like a blizzard had been through. Very scary and dangerous :spoton:
