Life can be so sweet when your giving it to somone, and when they complain to my manager about how hard on them I was, I get a pay rise.....lifes sweet for some of us.

I do tech support aswell and regularly get customers like this.

Quite possibly the worst was one customer who I literally spent 5 whole minutes trying to get him to use his keyboard.

He could not find it for the life of him.

Me: Are you in front of your computer sir?

Customer: Yes.

Me: Ok, I need you to press the delete key on your keyboard.

Customer: (...pause) I can't find it.

Me: You will find it just above the arrow keys.

Customer: I don't see them.

Me: On the keyboard... next to your mouse... do you see the keyboard?

Customer: (...even longer pause)

Me: You have your screen in front of you yes?

Customer: (confidently) Yes.

Me: On your desk, in front of your screen you will find your keyboard and mouse. You control the cursor on your screen with the mouse.

Customer: Yes I know the mouse.

Me: Ok, on the desk next to your mouse is the keyboard.

Customer: (...long pause)

Me: Big flat plastic thing with a whole lot of keys on it, the KEY BOARD!

Customer: ... ummmm

This went on, like I said, for 5 whole minutes. Eventually he did find it and I got him to hit the delete key.

God I hate tech support! :banghead:

Finished a job and was called back a week later

"My English box hedge is dying come and have a look"

I roll up at the job to talk to the snotty mole about her enormous problem and watch her dog cock its leg and piss on the hedge."He's never done that before" she says.Yeah right!

Finished a landscape and got called back 8 or 9 days later

"My new lawn is dying come and have a look"

Turn up at the job and her new rollout turf has small healthy semi circles of lawn around the sprinklers with near dead expanses of lawn between.Cranked up the irrigation system and find sprinklers firing at half range.WTF.Check the system.solnoids Ok, isolation valve open,get to the water meter and it's almost turned off."Whats going on here I ask?"She replies"I.ve been reading the meter every day since you finished and turned it down because we were using so much water"She saved $5.00 and killed an an $1800 lawn.

Working for a guy and nearly finished the job and he asks about a block retaining wall for his vegie patch.Show him a brochure of walling blocks.He says he likes a certain block and he's seen them before.I order the blocks for the next morning and the 3 of us go hammer and tongs to get this wall built.We leave the job before he gets home thinking we've done real well.My phone rings at 6.30 pm and its the client who informs me that he doesn't like the wall."Why"I naturally ask in shock."I don't like the blocks,I know I said I liked them but they just don't look right here,please remove them.No way is he going to pay for the wasted day,the delivery fee or cover the return of the blocks now soiled and classed as seconds and incurring a further cost to us.All the while holding the final payment for all the other work.

And countless other incidents that don't spring to mind just now.Why are people this stupid?Because smarter people can't legally kill them

I've got the best quote from a friend at work today.....it goes like this

Had a ripe new 1 today...was getting error 630 so we try and reinstall the modem....it fails...so I ask her to check the modem connections again...if they're plugged in...I'd like u to pull them out and put them back in again and we'll try again to reinstall the modem....

she puts the phone down....I wait............and wait..............................................and wait....5 minutes has passed and theres ppl in teh queue waiting so I end the call.

She then calls back and get another rep where she informs the rep that she has pulled her modem apart and pulled the wires out like requested

I still dont see how u can get "can you please check your modem connections again" as "please get a screw driver... pull the case off your modem....and if that doesnt fix the problem...you might as well pull all the wires out as well"

I was full on in shock after I read their note...very scary....very scary indeed

I get smart customers in the security industry too.

Like, but I have been overseas for the last 2 months so why should I have to pay for my alarm system monitoring if I haven't been here to use it?

Ahhhh that's why you pay for your monitoring sir so that if your house is broken into while you are away we can send a patrolman around or call your preferred people.

Well I wasn't here and I wasn't using it so I don't see why I should have to pay.

Go figure. If it wasn't for the customers my job would be so much easier. :lol:
