Patience Is Wearing Thin

I ordered my T in mid December last year and the dealer has told me it will take up to another 2 weeks before he can give me build and delivery dates. It is apparently scheduled to be built next month but no mention of a SIDO. Is it possible for a dealer to know what month a car will be built in without a SIDO?

Considering delays with FPV etc, I'm getting the feeling that there is a good chance I will not get my car until May. I have to be honest and say that I was told April when I ordered but from everything I've heard on this board, would I be wrong in saying my wait would be one of the longest?

As I've been told, it'll be worth it but work is starting to ask questions about the car they've "loaned" to me and I can't even finalise insurance as the people I've rung don't want to honour their quotes beyond a month. I'm getting concerned that premiums have been slowly creeping upwards. To top it all off, I'll no doubt be getting the inevitable call from the fleet company saying the price has changed. I guess after 3 months, the novelty of being in the queue has worn thin.

Anyone been in a fairmont? Maybe the window switches illuminate?

I'm sure there has to be another dealer out there that can help you out...

Have you looked around? Where are you located?

Superoo, with no SIDO and using a Fleet CO. Have you considered changing dealers? I did and got my T at least 2 months early. There is a thread here about what I did....

How I changed dealers

Just a thought...Talk to Craig Waller at Westpoint, he hleped me and may be able to help you too.

FWIW - Most leased cars are insured on a pooled insurance, that is they have 5000 cars and pay, for example $750 per car per year regardless of model/type. My car is insured thru my leas Co and is well under $1000 P.A.

I did shop around for other deals but my lease company has an agreement with this dealer (preferred dealer)where there is full fleet discount applied plus no dealer delivery charge. A bit hard to beat - believe me I tried.

The insurance has to be possibly my biggest gripe. My fleet company is ORIX so no excuses regarding fleet size but they have quoted me - wait for it - $1900. I basically said  as I know of a friend with an AUII XR8 who is under the exact agreement as I will be and he's paying $650. They crapped on about it being a turbo etc and that because it is insured for business use (input tax credits claimed) the premium is what it is.

Is this true? Is yours insured for business use Richdave? Ford Insure wanted a similar amount.

Just for a joke I asked them what the hell the premium would be if I wasn't rating 1. That was easy - regardless of rating (2-5), it would be a flat $3500. So much for the magic fleet insurance rate I was expecting. I did check this before ordering and had a quote sent to me for $1200 but guess what - that was a mistake and the guy who did it has now left.

I'm open to almost anything regarding the insurance - but it does have to be insured for business.

I ordered my XR6-T early November, Fleet sale, with lots of options so it has had 14 days at FPV etc and it is to be delivered to me tomorrow.

A long wait but should be worth it.

I was down for Feb build and got my SIDO etc in January not long before Ford showed it on their build system.

So is mine...

I am 22 and my insurance is $1000 flat a year.

The insurance is on the car itself regardless of who drives it.

Novated Leasing...
