Do you think Howard and his cronies....errrr cohorts will be voted out and there will be some fresh blood in or will we just sit and be shafted all the same?

Even the big end of town is prediciting that Messers Bush, Blair and Master Howard will be ejected from office.

Im backing a Labor win, but with only a small margin. They will maintain control in the senate.

I think Kerry O'Brien (a distant relative of mine, apparently) summed it up well today - the election is there for Labour to win, if they run a good campaign. The anit-government mood is nowhere near as strong as in America, so I think the Coalition has a good chance of retaining power.

A politician will win - they always do. It doesn't matter which side. The people will lose and the country will continue to be shafted just as you suggested. But I see the result much as you've called it.

The party that deserves to win is the lesser of two evils.

That is clearly liberal. I have a mortgage and there is no way Im going to pay 17% on it, which is what will happen if latham gets in. There is no need for personal insults, but in this case it's warranted. How he could be the leader of the opposition is a testament to the quality of its party as a whole.

Little Johnny will win.Mr and Mrs middle Australia are more concerned about their precious money than anything else.(labour only win office in a recession/depression)They don't trust labour to manage the economy.It will take an emotive issue like the Tasmanian Dams( which got Bobby Hawke elected )for a change of government to occur in the 51st state.IMHO if fat Kimmy was still in charge they might have had half a chance.
