Given the reputation and cult status the "T" has developed after only 2 years you would expect the F6 to be pulling at least high 13's...or otherwise why would people entertain the idea of spending 12-15 k more on another glorified "T". Reckon this will be the rocket of the entire Ford performance range.

but many motoring mags have pulled high 13s for xr6ts and gt's,let alone mid to low 13s for the entire range of hsvs. So I would expect the same as hsv or close to if I just forked out the extra dosh for one. Anyone else feel the same?

351, I agree that low 13's are far more likely. One just has to plug some numbers into the ET calculators, which are not overly reliable, to get a sense of this and intuitively that 550Nm of Torque on a car which is presumably not much heavier than an XR6T would do about the same as an APS Phase I over the 1/4 mile.

well. personally I think there are many other issues to the Typoon, apart from the speed. The stronger rods, valve springs, oil cooler, bigger intercooler etc all add to the long term durability and address some of the issues that arise when you "boost" the performance, as compared to the standard "T".

Also, the price gap becomes less when you consider the 18" wheels, premuim brakes, sport steering wheel etc that are all optoins on the normal "T" (and which many of us have)

Also I love the FPV look but wouldnt buy a GT (have just had one for 2 days) as the peaky engine is a dissapointment and it has a nasty swerve towards petrol stations!!

That is what I was thinking, mine went 13.7. Keeping up with rex's, they do that stock!

I think the typhoon should be faster than the current STI and EVO and be up their with the 300kw GTS.

It will all depend on traction. Manual, 3.7 diff, 550nm of torque very low in the rev range and only 245 tyres means these cars will be a nightmare to launch cleanly without wheelspin. With a perfect launch I would guess a mid 13 would be possible.

rexs doing 13.7 sec quarters stock?,, maybe in perfect conditions with a perfect launch and so on, but I would think that is more of an sti time not a base rex which would be more closer to 14secs flat.My query with regards to typhoon times was referring to times that you can fairly reliably achieve
