How can this be? has the ecu freaked out and requires to time to adjust, I would'nt think so. Any thoughts ? It varies with a lot of different design parameters and you need to experiment while on a dyno. My 4.1 litre turboed engine has only the standard (approx 1" square) air flow meter inlet and I have tremendous ram effect (very long runners on the 4.1efi motor) and virtually no lag anywhere in the rev range because of the enormous torque straight off virtually idle speed. Now it's possible that I might get an improvement by having a larger intake but the thing just has so much grunt as it is that I couldn't be bothered trying anything else. If it ain't broke don't fix it ... SS inductions went to the trouble of having a wide mouth collector and the deflectors to ram as much air into the box and you have negated that by putting a hole in the box so that the ram pressure disapates out of.Biggy Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/12512-is-there-such-a-thing-as-too-much-cai/#findComment-158272 Share on other sites

I have been asking around about the effect that a 2nd CAI would have and was told that "You can't have too much air" No one mentioned the Ram issue (including APS).Anyone in WA want a two day old XR8 CAI?
