XR6_ED Member 1,517 Member For: 21y 9m 27d Posted 30/11/04 11:18 AM Share Posted 30/11/04 11:18 AM Today I pulled the rocker gear of the ED ..Main reason ,a lifter was taking its time to bleed out..11yrs and 160000km running on synthetic oil with a high lift-long duration cam and upgraded valve springs. The rockers ,rocker rails ,cam followers ,cam etc show no signs of wear or varnish deposits..This is the reason why the T is running full synthetic Looks like the cause is a broken plastic ring that hold the two sections of the lifter together.The broken ring had jammed the lifter not allowing it to bleed ..Some more useless information for the internet information highway Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He reckons about $3k of damage including new tyre and rim. He also told me of a customer who had picked up their brand new GT in Lightning Strike with orange stripes and parked it outside his house.. Well guess what happened? A lady lost control of her car and smashed into it causing $25k worth of damage. He said the floor was very badly damaged as the rear wheel took the main impact from the rear, so it ended up buried under the floor. And they fixed it! He said he couldn't believe the manager made them fix it as half the car had to be replaced and it only had a handful of kms on it. When the head of the body shop found out the manager lost his job!
