He did everything with jacks and stands. He had a spare creeper for customers to go under the car so he could show them in detail the work he was doing etc. He liked to get the customer involved eg, when he had the motor out of my car, he suggested it was an ideal opportunity to paint the engine bay and I was welcome to use his w'shop on the weekend to do it. Of course, I did.I always wondered why he didn't invest in a hoist, but he said he'd done without one for so long, it wasn't a priority. He had a reputation among Adelaide Jaguarphiles as the best, but he was fussy about the cars he worked on. If the car wasn't up to his standards, he wouldn't touch it. Unfortunately, he died suddenly and prematurely.....life's like that....
