We don't want them to feel sorry for him because his bruised and battered. After they've finished with him, then we can have our fun!!! I know how sh!tty it feels when someone hits your car. (It's happened to my T once.) Fortunately when it's happened to me, the other person has never tried to get out of their responsibilities.BTW, my T was at the repairer for only 1 day to get the back bumper replaced. So hopefully you shouldn't have to wait too long.
XR6_ED Member 1,517 Member For: 21y 9m 28d Posted 30/08/04 11:13 AM Share Posted 30/08/04 11:13 AM The clutch....before I start let me have a big spit at ford...you bunch of useless short cutting Feel better now 1) the factory/dealer alarm can't have the siren turned off ...unless you have a ford wsd?? or something computer....what a load of sh*t2) cheap and nasty flywheel setup..the flywheel consists of a drive plate for the ring gear and a piece of cast iron with a hole in it to accept the crank boss, and a 3 dowel and 6 bolts hole for the pressure plate..the trouble is my psudeo flywheel is dished and has 3 high spots3)pressure plate has the 3 identical high spots...both the flywheel and p/p have not got full contact ..you can see on the clutch plate 2/3 of it has not touched...4)this clutch slave/release bearing setup is a complete joke...when the clutch slave sh*ts itself after warranty, I hope you like paying for 6 hrs labour, because you have to remove the gearbox to change it5)for a BTR t5 gearbox, TREMEC dont mind casting their name all over it...main casing to bell housing is non removeable from the outer 4 bolts...stupid f*ckers have put 4 bolts on the inside making it impossible to remove insitu...6)removing gearbox...The bloody rubics cube was easier...Not enough room bw bell housing and firewall.....requires a 90 degree rotation to clear the firewall.....7)If anyone see my starter motor bolt on the road or in the factory can I have it back...Only one bolt holding the starter motor in...one missing electrical wire harness on the right hand rear of block,,, melting check your own I bet they are all doing itBut enough of the whinging...the new clutch setup is having a few issues at the moment ...clutch release when cold but drags as it gets hotter...ruled out hydraulics as the old clutch never suffered from this...either flexing flywheel or clutch plate...clutch is heavier but going to try a in between rated diaphragm......The cushioned clutch plate is smoother than a soild set up ...the clutch bite at any rpm is 100% no slippage... unbelievable...5000rpm drop the clutch results in wheel spin...what I have also noticed is at 80km/hr in 2nd, on full power it will break traction where as the old clutch would slipsome teething problems to sort out and then hopefully no more traffic light burn outs(clutch)..some testing tommorrow on flywheel flex and then the box out to change the cover to an intermediate pressure..Why am I doing all this? because I'm fkn nuts

That clutch job sounds hell. I buy Fords because I believe they build things better than the General, but that setup sounds worse than theirs.Going out to the shed later to check that loom too! Maxx Power Want E46 M3 Member 327 Member For: 22y 10d Location: Adelaide Posted 31/08/04 08:22 AM Share Posted 31/08/04 08:22 AM Damage pic!Car has been towed to get quotes done on it, the cops have done NOTHING in the mean time despite me breaking their balls everyday with phone calls. They will "get to it in the next few days." By that time our old mate will have sold the car and moved to Mexico... I have lost all faith in our Police force, my mate has had his car broken into 3 times and has had the same treatment... The crash repairer said about $4 to $5k of damage. New rear bar, tail light, respray boot as it has been chipped by the taillight, plus all the structral damage to the boot has to be knocked out. (My jack was jammed in I couldn't really get it out plus the clips from the carpet were all popped out.)See what happens, I am sick of this crap! XR6_ED Member 1,517 Member For: 21y 9m 28d Posted 31/08/04 09:37 AM Share Posted 31/08/04 09:37 AM not good max ....When someone damages you property and you have the evidence(number plate and damage to the other car etc) why the hell wouldn't the cops do something about it...When a dopey *beep* hit my retainer wall I followed the oil trail back to his house..he denied it..Cops weren't interested...Long story short he was persuaded to own up to the damage and low and be hold the stupid f*cker had no licence....Sux when you have to do your own detective work because the police aren't interested.....And it wasn't a couple of hundred dollars worth of damage to the wall it was $6500... Max I know the frustration and disbelief you are going thru at the moment it enough to make you Stick by your guns and everything will be good again

The wheels of justice move quite slowly. The important thing is you have supplied the details of the offender to the insurance company. They also might be too slow for your liking, but they will eventually get their money from him.Your best bet is to not over react to the situation. Get the car fixed properly first. That's your main priority.I believe that dI*ks like that guy get what's coming to them sooner or later. If Vik gets the posse up and running, methinks it might be sooner!cheerstom
