It's a cordless phone actually, think it might be Uniden brand. Also if you have Call Waiting activated it causes your connection to drop out. This is because call waiting is an exchange based function, your phone doesn't have to be plugged in for it to affect your internet connection. But what stang said is true turue true.CW is definitely not activated, that much I do know.

Make sure you also have a ADSL line filter as well.If you keep getting dropouts call the ISP

I do have a ADSL line filter installed as well, came as a package with the ADSL modem from TPG but I read that you need a different ADSL line filter for cordless phones? That way you know if it is phone related.

I don't believe there is a different line filter for cordless phones, however depending on the brand you may experience difficulties. I had one filter which wasn't effective when used with my Telstra cordless, but fine with my standard Telstra rental unit. Buying a new line filter sorted out all my problems

It is great. I download a LOT so no shaping and no limits are the way for me.Ross, I just read that you are using the freebie usb modem. They suck, I recommend a decent ethernet modem for sure. I would go for this one.http://www.oztechnologies.com/detail.asp?ID=149It has a good firewall, much better than USB. It's also the one I'm using.
