Even so I would think even if I had 13000km on the clock it should still be warranty.the disks should at least last as long as the pads. The service manager even tried to say it was my fault and to take it easy on the brakes. I thought that was a tad rude, seeing that all my km are done on the highway, he even tried to say hes seen the way I drive , pffft what the? that's one way of getting out of warranty work!!! Firts up macjine, then replace rotors...all at no charge and they didnt EVER mention cost. :D They just gave me the keys and said this is what we have done, any further probs let us know. Maybe Ford should send their service guys to the Daewoo service management training course

I just dont think I should be haveing to call them up to find out what the f*** happened when my wheel nearly come off, they should be onto it and getting back to me as soon as posible the ammount of times ive been put on hold when phoning them, I just dont have time. as for my disks shocking, to have the hide to tell me he has seen the way I drive on the highway, where has he seen me? what the hell is that!! I might do them a favour and not bother them again which means my next ford in 2 years time wont be bought from them. And if anyone from that dealer is reading this dont worry I wont name you! you will just lose any business from anyone I personally know who is buying a new ford which isnt many maybe about 3 all up. The only reason I only got warrenty work only and not a 15000km service was to give them one last chance. im sorry but they failed im booking it in somewhere else!! Lifetime Members 306 Member For: 21y 10m 27d Gender: Male Location: Geelong Posted 13/03/03 09:59 AM Share Posted 13/03/03 09:59 AM Its funny the miss information that floats around the place, just because people don't understand the cause of the problems. All this talk of brake shudder in these cars is beginning to get frustrating! The dealers are telling people the cause of the shudder is being hard on the brakes! In actual fact it can be the complete opposite! The cause of the shudder is possibly from not using the brakes enough with the brake pads just kissing the disc while travelling down the road at high way speed. Of those of you that have the brake shudder problem, have a think if you do alot of highway driving. Bet you do! I have done 6500kms in my BA and not a sign of shudder as its almost all around town stuff! How do I know this is a potential cause? We are working on it at the moment at the PG as its possibly the biggest problem with the BA so far. We should have a permament fix once we understand the problem and the causes better. Hope this helps some of you being able to understand why your car shudders when you've never given it a hard time on the brakes! I used to be quilty of thinking it was caused by hard braking only. Now I know it can be caused by many things! Another cause can be contanination of the disc surface from driving on dirty or muddy roads as the front bumper under tray has slots to allow air to flow to the brakes but we think it might be allowing dirt onto the brakes too. Hope this helps you understand brake shudder a bit more!

Bet you do! Interesting observation. I've had my discs replaced twice now in less than 10,000ks. First time was after a touring holiday interstate, and second time after normal highway travelling between home and work. I'm on my 3rd batch now, and am sure that warping has started again. I'm getting sick and tired of booking my T in, so when 15,000k service is due, I'm going to request Ford to upgrade the discs (if they have something to upgrade to). I'd be prepared to pay the difference between the standard and upgraded discs, just to avoid (or reduce) the hassle of fixing this problem in the future.Btw, the last set of discs were sent away to Ford for analysis... no feedback received though. Posted 13/03/03 12:58 PM Share Posted 13/03/03 12:58 PM I Agree don't be shy in giving out the dealers names, also ring Customer Service in Melbourne and let them know. The brake problem has to be rectified, the only Ford I had trouble with brake shudder was my ol EA S, fixed prob by fitting EB discs, obviously can't wait for the BB . I'll definately be letting my dealer know I'm aware of this problem.
