FEB 2004 auto

Harsh 2-3 shift replaced solonoid , fixed

intermittent rough idle

diff whine , told it was within specs and ford aust was working on it???

And the big one Turbo Over boost , ie the engine dies under heavy acceleration. They reflashed the ecu but it still happens occasionaly , was told the factory is aware and are working on a fix.

But still sh*ts all over the opposition :

June 2004 build..........no problems at all exvept for occassional overboost on a cold morning.......(nothing serious touch wood)......only happened about 3 or 4 times since I had it.........

Took it to Ford, and registereded on the computer........this was cleared 4 weeks ago and only had it happen once since then..............no big deal...........overboost would only last about 3 seconds until I took the foot off and reapplied it......

Very happy and best car driven to date......

Jan 04,

12,500kms

And so far,

Driveline clunk! (pretty standard)

Oh yeah, it also likes to jump into limp mode when I'm on the wrong side of the highway accelerating to pass the odd truck now and again... (more often than what I'd like really)

Does anyone know what the solution is to this problem???????

ECU reprogrammed at least 4 times due to rough idle

Heat shield 3 times

Spring in brake pedal

Oil Leak

Diff Leak (whole rear end was dropped from the car to rectify)

Bonnet Cable (did not function on delivery date)

Brake Shudder - machined twice and shim kit

Turbo hose

Dash rattle

Power windows

Creaky centre console lid

Diff whine (best way to hear this is to take out the back seat)

Interior cabin noise. Car has been in about 10 times for this, yet noise is still there. Work done includes spot welds on body seams and rear parcel shelf.

I recall on previous threads that others have have experienced the interior cabin noise around the rear parcel shelf area. Any ideas on how to rectify? As per above the dealership have tried umpteen different things with no success.

I could go on but it has got to the stage where it may be time for a replacement.

no other major problems to report apart from my drivers side fog lamp glass has a crack in it and I am to stubburn to pay for $140 for a new one.

I bought the XR fog lamp guards. Takes about 10 mins to fit and only cost $34.00. ;)

A lot better than paying $140 to replace foglamp.

This poses a question.... Why make plexiglas headlights but glass foglights...

methinks the foggies should be plexiglass too.... or is that the new moneyspinner from Ford

Oct 03, 13,700Kms. Premium brakes squeal - initially dealer machined discs when less than 2,000 Km on the clock. Squeal went away for a week then returned. Next told by dealer "unable to machine discs as they are slotted rotors"; begs question how he did it the first time doesn't it? Returned with squeak - told Ford aware of issue but wait a month or so for a fix. Complained to FoMoCo in Melbourne - told they would contact dealer who would install new type of pads and this would fix the problem. Waited and waited then contacted dealer. No solution yet matey - Oh Ford said they have a fix? Bring it in then. They now fixed the problem with new pads.

Persistence is not a crime.

Bull sh*tting to the customer is!

I have just purchased a 11/02 T ute - from the service history it has had only one warranty claim - the infamous brake shudder at 8K. Now at 38K it has a slight shudder under light braking at high speeds (slower speeds or harder braking there is no shudder).

Today I spoke with two other T owners - one has a 11/02 as well (17K brakes deal), and then seriously bad 26K brake problem - currently no brake issues. Last week had a ECU reflash from occassional rough idle engine shut off problem. The other owner didn't talk about anything else but the brakes pissing him off (seems like there's a predictable trend - BAs = brake shudder imminent).

A bit of drive line thunk... dealer subbie stuffed up the factory tinting and all window rubber seals had to be replaced because of the subbies 3rd rate job...

However, I love ze raw power and feel on the road!!!! :3gears:

Given the fact most cops are gettings these beasts over those :ermm: v8 ss's makes me kind of wonder what the blue oval has done for the boys in blue that we joe public dont get...
