Hey Peter,

You can PM me the real footage anytime, matey...

By the way....  Where did you source a twin turbo 350Z from?

Being left hand drive, I assume you're developing kits for the US market?

Great video shots. :fishin:

cheers

tom

Thanks though I'm now gun shy, how do I know you're not encouraging me to drive over the speed limit.............don't be silly now.

Have a browse of the APS web site at http://www.aps-350z.com/350z/350z.htm this will give you an idea of what we do when we get bored between new Ford product releases :o

Have a good day and never speed over the limit...........it's bad for your health and of those around you

The 350Z was on my shortlist when I bought the T. I showed the videos to Mrs Z. Her reaction "Gee, that goes better than the one we test drove".

The videos made me think seriously for the first time about mods. They also made me realise I miss driving a manual. So, I enjoyed watching them.

At the same time, I have to agree that it scares me that so many people condone driving on public roads with a total disregard for the rules and pathetic comments like "I don't do it all the time".

Sure we've all done it and most of the time most of us have been lucky. Every time though, we bet our judgement and driving ability against the lives of ourselves and others. I don't think any of us has a right to do that.

The problem is that, like most of us, I tend to think it's reasonably safe when I give it a burst, 'cos I see myself as responsible. But, in the end, that's hypocritical as I don't trust a lot of other idiots to do the same thing. And there's a lot of other idiots out there that I don't trust!

Have to admit I'd feel safer in or around that 350Z than sharing the road with some P -plater that's been driving for a few months and thinks he's Skaife in his crappy old over-powered and underbraked Late model camira with soggy suspension and tired tyres. Still can't see how that gives APS carte blanche to ignore the rules, though. In the end the same rules have to apply to everyone or the roads are going to be made very scary by people whose ego exceeds their ambition.

If anyone thinks I'm sitting on the fence on this one, they're right. That Scotty's smarter than I've given him credit for in the past.

*clink* my 2c

Kudos to a tyre frying product. Bit of a thumbs down at the driving being shown.

Just out of curiousity - is that LHD car properly rego'd and insured etc? I mean 'if' somethign happens with it on the road is APS's backside going to be in a sling or all bases covered?

I recall a few instances over the years where such videos have been used as evidence in court to fine/disqualify drivers involved. Peter, you may wanna check the legal status ;)

I agree with the sentiments that it was bad judgement making a 'road loop' like that a promo vid, and possibly some of the things shown aren't quite kosher when seen from spectaters eyes but we may nto understand the true context either. *shrugs*

My personal thing is cover your a55 and make sure someone like Harold Scuby (Shuby?) can't shop you to the authorities.

A.

Will be approx 15k for TT system inc GST install and dyno tuning................though we expect that a TT consumer will never spin the tyres or exceed 100 kph.

Have a good day and please never drive a performance car as a performance car!

I have dismissed the idea of filming at high speed on a race track as this may be seen by some as encouragement to drive at high speed..............not a good thing as this be a deadly practise.

Have a good day.

That’s a shame….I think you’d find that mostly everyone who was critical of the original videos suggested that a track was the appropriate environment….what’s even more disappointing is that you don’t seem to have any genuine regard for any of the other motorists you may have endangered….don’t get me wrong, I’ve got no problem with the product being promoted….I’m sure it’s great. But the driving shown in those vids was inappropriate for the environment it was conducted in.

Having previously spent the better part of 2 &1/2 hours being cut out of car that was hit by someone doing pretty much the same thing as shown in the videos I really haven’t got much time for the “it’s a performance car…it meant to driven in like that” argument…if you can’t grasp the fairly simple contract you enter into when obtaining your license “follow the road laws” it’s probably best for those around you if you don’t drive on the road…on the other hand if you are cognizant of the obligations placed on you as a user of shared roads and you want “drive it like a performance car” take down to the strip or track……

My apologies and I agree entirely as the driving was far too slow and therefore the driver lacks total concentration with the task at hand through sheer boredom.........in addition tyres don't generate sufficent temperture for maximum road grip. :spoton:

Never drive a performance car like a performance car as it's irresponsible!
