I recently read in the local paper that in 3 years petrol prices would hit the $3 per litre mark :pooh: . Well do any of you guys believe this, it has just gotten me really worried and thinking of selling the T for a cheaper car.

My reasoning behind this is well if in 3 or so years petrol prices do go up to $3 a litre or something totally unrealistic like that, then who's gonna want to buy a car with a 4litre engine and turbo??? (I will be screwed to find a buyer)

What is everyones thoughts about this???

Trust me I love the T but petrol price is getting a bit out of hand...

price you pay for owning a powerful car mate.

Think of all those blokes with ferarris and porsches .. if you can't afford to run it.. then you can't afford to own it.. it's like servicing... tyres etc...

All of these are subject to increases in the good ol' cost of living.

none the less.. I doubt it will happen... it took nearly 5 years to go from .55c a litre up to 1.00+ a litre...

well at $3 a litre I would be paying $250 a week just to fill up!! This sort of money would get you a nice investment unit.... If this happened... And I think it wont (well not at least in 3 years) I would retire the T to a weekend cruiser/strip car.

All this hype is justification for the sh1t high prices we are currently paying and taking our attention of that. :pooh:

If you took the government excise and GST out of the equation petrol would actually be quite cheap (just over half what it is now)…I saw segment on TV the other night and was most surprised to learn that we actually pay GTS on the excise. So if fuel was say $1.00 a liter including excise you’d actually pay $1.10 at the pump including GST….as they say in classics, we’re being stooged

If you’re unhappy about the current tax system relating to fuel (and who wouldn’t be) you can provide feedback on this via the following web form

What gets me going even more is the price of rum, it cost around $7.00 a bottle ex factory but by the time all of the different levels of parasites have a go at it, it is tripled in price.

So my point - fuel is not a neccessity, rum is, so it hurts even more.
