Touche'

Well said! Agree totally.

A mate of mine is a paramedic and while working on a patient was bashed senseless by the guys mates! All emergency service people are there to help us. Get in the way of them doing their job and you deserve the worst!

Or pehaps we should just make it that offenders can get away if they make it to their cars before they're caught. Coz it'd be bad to chase them! smilielol.gif

I've driven many cars, at well over 200 Kmph, yes on public roads, even in the rain in high traffic, dual carriageway.. Completely safe and legal. Even at night, even, in when it gets a little icey. Not all of these were high powered performance cars, some where dinky little hatchbacks with 1.6L engines, fwd and 185 tyres.

Safe and legal! :birthdaywish: Congratsulations you're exactly the type of person who kills other road users everyday, the only difference is you haven't actually killed anyone yet. Who knows maybe you never will, but you are sure increasing the risk of it happening!

Geea.

everyone else is rambling Id thought I would too. Anyone can hold a sterring wheel straight and flatten the pedal. The real trick is being able to DRIVE a car. Then you will be the wise Sempai

Guys, can you argue the merrits or otherwise of who can do what how fast elsewhere? Try Chit Chat, the road safety debate. I'll join you there. 10_1_9.gif

I drove mine from Sydney to Darwin, still accellerating at 240 with no sign of the limiter

:banghead:

Same, same. On a private road out the back of nowhere my T wound itself up to just over 240 then began to surge, standard wheels etc, felt like a three legged racehorse and no hope of stopping quickly. GT just a whisk over 250 and no sign of any speed limiter, feels glued to the road and stops on a dime :kissmy::kissmy: .

I think everyone would agree that if you own an xr6t you arnt going to always stay on the limit. I am not saying that speeding is right, but I think that as long as you do it when there arnt any other cars around and you are an experienced driver then its ok. Because in the end its up to you how confident you are and if you arnt putting anyone elses life in danger its your choice.

This is most likely because a speedo is allowed to have a 10% degree of error in it.

At 230 km/h, you can understand that your indicated speed may not even be close to your true speed

The carsw at work have the police flash done, so a digital speedo that is also calibrated to be exact. Sometimes the digital speedo can very greatly from the indicated speed on the normal speedo.

My point is, your old mans car does have the limiter, but the speedo was just being generous with your indicated speed.
