The XR8 isnt available as a cab chassis so l was wondering if anyone knew what would be required to do the swap. Would it be a simple case of removing the ute body and bolting on the alloy tray and wiring in the tail lights? Had some pretty large, heavy duty tool boxes on the tray. The finish on the lower sections at the back of the cab, which is usually covered by the back section, looked a bit untidy. I didn't know Ford don't do a cab chassis or tray back on the XR, so I didn't really take much notice. Springs looked a bit more heavy duty than I expected, but I thought that was just because they were more visible.Pity I didn't read your post a day earlier so I could have got some more details and a "phone" photo. I would add LED truck tailights to just finish it off nicely! Plus most dealers will swap you a Tub for a tray depending on the colour you want. OOPS, something seriously wrong with that one, hate to see a bad job!Although I can't say that I've seen any BA XR traybacks getting around, my ex-neighbour has an AU XR8 with a stained wooden tray on the back and it looks very shmick indeed.I can't see it would be a problem with a BA as they are the same chassis underneath as the XLS as XRBloke has mentioned, but don't go attempting to copy what was done it that picture.Trent. Usually a MMM design tray commonly fitted to Courier and Hilux's. Looks a shedload better than that other "thing" that XrBloke posted up..... no offence to said Bloke, but it looks terrible.Win win for all, and the customer usually keeps the old tub, makes a great trailer!
