what would the top speed these cars would reach around winton race track. I don't know the track but I'm just wondering how the comodorres were around 2.5 seconds faster when the other times for the monaro cv8 are about the same as the turbo. Odd. Did they have Garth Tander driving again?

I don't know to be honest but you may have hit on something. I can't believe the Expensive Daewoo guys actually think a lap time round a race track is important.

won't spoil the article completely for you, but

"the fact that the XR6T got this far into the PCOTY judging is a credit to the mindset at Ford Aust. We wonder if they'll ever realise just how close it ultimately came to claiming the crown"
