If it was a red SS it was from TBS in qld it is a S/C car apparently ran a best in the mid 12 sec @127 mph 60 fters were 2.3 secs

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Good topend speed :w00t2:

Must be making plenty of Kw's.

Xr6turbo's are lucky to break 120mph with 330rwkw.

Have to admire any car that makes serious HP :ermm:

Got witnesses.

Ive done 3 porches, one was a turbo.

Hmmm, I'm not too sure about this Porsche Turbo beating thing...but then again, 996 turbos do 400m in hi 12s, so it could be possible, BUT you will not touch one once a corner comes up...

Just goes to show that 1/4 mile times don't mean stuff all in the real world. Motor mag keep getting mid to high 13s for stock SS Commodores, and occasionly someone will repeat that time in the real world, but you hardly ever see it. Yet when you race them on the road, the SS doesn't accelarate all that fast. I think 90% of its fast 1/4 is in the launch!

Roll ons on the freeway... where's the torque from the 5.7?

I only managed a 14.7 at willowbank, yet I have matched a modified LS1 in a VY ute both roll on and standing start. Yet motor advertises 13s for such a car, and it gets its arse handed to it by a 14s car.

Its getting beaten by another driver not the car itself!

That's true, I believe that it's all about the torque, the LS1 has had complaints from motoring writers about it's major lack of torque below 3500rpm, so by this stage the turbo's spooled up and good the feck outta there!!

I haven't dragged an LS1 yet, NONE OF THEM WILL TRY!!! I think they're scared!

LS1's are no problem, just get a good launch Dave. (Even if you botch the launch, you can still reel them in, just takes a teeny bit longer!)

Ross

I'm getting the hang of the launch...if only I could just get one to drag me!!!

You blokes need a lesson in commonsense street racing is illegal, go to willowbank Off Street Drags then come back and boast about your kills.

I have embarressed several LS1's this summer on flats and in the hills...

I love the look as you are going around them at high speed.. There faces are saying..." What the hell have you got in that thing.."

Yes it's just a T and it's australian wa*ker..............
