The trick to loosing weight is EXCERSISE and do not eat after 7pm as your body will burn fat while you sleep. Also drink HEAPS of water. The Atikins diet can be dangerous for people with high blood pressure and colestorol as it will make it worse.

This also very true Zapt :spoton: One thing l learned from the Atkins diet is the it can make you very tired...sick...and moody swings, so if your thinking of taking up the Atkins diet...CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR first and ask him if its for you.

I tried it...How could you not? Bacon...meat...fat...bacon...meat and bacon. They are my six favorite foods.

The only thing I found was that when I went to the toilet, my stools were...well...like stools.:sick: sorry.

My doctor has been on it for...and this ain't no misprint...15 months and he recons its great. His wife is on it too and they both look terrific.

You have to experiment with food and try to increase carbs sloooowwwly and exercise.

The best thing I found for weight loss was:

Up at 5am.. Run/sprint for 5kms

Go to work. Work.

Lunchtime. Eat....food then after it settled go downstairs to the gym and do 45 minutes of circuits/weights including a lot of work on the punching bag.

Finish work. Pub. 6 schooners and half a pizza.

Go home. Watch telly for a while then go for a run at Parramatta Park. Do 10ks in 40 minutes. Come home. Drink water. Eat Tuna in spring water. Go to bed.

Wake up next day and do it again.

Then go to Singleton Army Base for 14 days. Up at 4am and in bed at 11pm. Don't stop running, climbing, leopard crawling, ghost crawling, eating dirt, drinking muddy water........

Contract Glandular Fever in last couple of days. Vomit every time you go for run and get belted by the blokes behind you.

Finish the 14 days. Pass pit of course and you have lost 10 kilos.

Now weigh 75 kilos, have 3% bodyfat, can run 10 k's in 39 flat, can do 20 dips, 20 chinups, 40 crunches and swim 500m in boots and overalls in under 1.10 and STILL drink 6 schooners.

Now if you want to know how to put weight on......take one BMW motorcycle, numerous broken bones................

I found that by getting in half hour of exercise before breakfast helped more than at night. Maintaining about 1 kilo every two weeks weight loss. Keep carb intake to unrefined grains eg. wholemeal bread, brown rice (not as boring as it sounds) plenty of fish, chicken and fresh vegies. The goal is to keep up with the exercise as well, you can't just rely on diet alone. There still has to be an easier way (liposuction).

Best way I've found to lose weight is to have someone break your jaw for you. A few months eating through a straw and it goes out the same consistency it went in !!

I wouldnt go out and do it on purpose though :smilielol:.........or alternatively take up long distance triathlons at a semi pro level. Eat whatever you want, whenever you want, and as much as you like. Just have to train 40hrs/week on top of your normal work, but that's a small price to pay....isnt it ?? :censored:

Scales are like dynos... you have to use them in the exact same situation. Time of day and the clothes you wear can account for up to a 1kg swing in a day. Try weighing yourself in the buff each morning to get an accurate idea of whether or not you're losing or gaining weight.

Doing Atkins at present, was easy first week to stay in Ketosis and lost 1 kg per day average and lost 10kg in first 8 days. Have struggled 2nd week to stay in ketosis but probably not drinking enough water as you need to have 3 - 4 litres per day. Eat plenty of eggs, fresh if you can get them and at least 2 dozen per week as well as plenty of meat. Have to give up all foods with sugar and flour. You can buy substitutes for some foods but they taste pretty crook and cost a mint.
