Coming home tonight, there was a window washer guy at an intersection. Seen him there often, not many people get him to clean their windows. I called hiom over and gave him $2 for at least making an effort. He said "Thanks mate, will do your windows anyway". I let him. Big mistake.

I now have an arc of a scratch going from the bottom left of the windscreen, up to the top. At first I thought it was from sand under a wiper, but it doesn't match a wiper arc. It does, however, match an arm arc from the right of the car, which is where he was.

B L * * D Y H E L L, what have I done to deserve this????

How do I get it fixed? Is it doable? Or do I need a replacement windscreen? ARGH!!! It's a fine scratch, not deep, but I can't live with it there.

Now, it may not have been him, but I think I would have noticed before now and the scenario fits. Makes me want to go back and ram his windscreen scraper up his....

sounds like the window dude caused the scratch... probably had his cleaner sitting on the ground before washing yours with an end full of sand

I had a bloke run out and wash mine without me asking... I had no wallet and no coins on me at the time... was really embarresing.....

Have done a quick Internet search and looks like I'll be visiting my local windscreen repairer tomorrow morning. Will take their advice as to whether I get it fixed now or get it done when the car's returned to 'as new'.

Hey Lightning, I didn't realise you're still driving your car around. That makes your dilemma in the other thread easy. Just shop around until you get a crash repairer you're happy with who can let you have a loan car while yours is being fixed. Might have to wait a week or two, but, if the car can be driven in the meantime. what's the big deal?

Hi Zeke,

Yeah, car is still driveable (except when I hit a big dip or go over speed bumps). However, my biggest problem is time and pride. I simply don't have the time to run a round and panel shop (haha). As for pride, it makes me cry every time I go out to the car port. Sometimes I think I should reverse in, so that I don't see the damage...

Anyway, I figured I'd just suffer and sponge off friends. A cute work collegue leaves nearby, so... :spoton:

Oh, it's also starting to rust.

that's not the worst of it, worst is when people point at it.

When I hit the roo every man and his woman and their dog was pointing at my car saying "look at that, look at that". Gave me the sh*ts.
