As much as I enjoy seeing Ford canvassed in a positive light compared to Holden, the choice of comparison for SV6 and XR6T is unjustified on price, market segmentation or performance.  Apart from this ridiculously unequal comparison are comments about the XR6T like "Premium brakes are an expensive option but should be standard."  There is no justification for this other than the authors' opinion, similar to comments like "The tyre tread pattern on the upholstery looks awful".  The fuel economy figure for the XR6T is touted as 16.1L/100km with no indication of city/highway mix proportions liike 70%/30% etc, other than sloppy statements like "included a mix of freeway driving".

In short, this is a typical example of sloppy, self-opinionated, unjustified journalism, that I would be amazed any forward-thinking individual would seriously consider as a dispassionately objective analysis.

Having said that, Ford, and in particular the XR6T, keep kicking a$$..  :spit:

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z.  :spit:

Sloppy journalism :pooh: eg he says XR6 and XT have the same mechanicals, therefore the same performance,(words to that effect) Not so ..........XR6's get a3.45:1 axle ratio where the XT has a taller 3.23:1 axle ratio! That means the XR6 should perform even better than the SV6!

Kind of stating the obvious there Dr Z, would almost fall into the same category as a generous bank manager!

It's really quite amusing actually, my boss is in the market for a crossover or whatever the current buzz word is. Started off with the Adventra being the favourite but I think I managed to talk him out of that - so did a bit of research and if you take notice of all the reviews floating around the place you end up chasing your tail - Forrester, Kluger, Territory, Adventra - all have their moments of greatness in one journo's eyes but crap in the next review.

So the long and the short of it - Lexus here he comes.
